Time your hook, haul up gold, beat the clock. Treasure Tug is a free one-tap gold miner arcade game. Time a swinging claw, reel in nuggets and diamonds, dodge heavy rocks and hit each level's target.
How to play
A little miner sits in a cart at the top of the screen, with a claw swinging under it like a pendulum. Tap anywhere to fire it. It shoots out in a straight line the way it was pointing. On a keyboard, press Space, Enter or the Down arrow.
The claw grabs the first thing it touches and reels it back up to the cart. If it touches nothing, it comes back empty once it reaches the edge of the screen. Every shot costs time. How long the reel takes depends on the weight of what you caught:
- Gold nuggets come in three sizes. Small ones are worth 60 and come up fast. Medium ones are worth 160. Big ones are worth 480 but crawl up slowly.
- Diamonds are worth 600 and weigh almost nothing. They only show up from level 2 onward.
- Rocks are heavy and worth just 20 or 45. Grabbing one by accident costs you seconds.
- Mystery bags might hold a handful of coins, a small fortune, or the strong arm power-up. Their weight is a surprise too.
- TNT barrels blow up when the claw touches them, taking out everything close by, treasure included. Then the claw comes back empty.
- Green bolts give you the strong arm, which makes everything reel in much faster for the rest of the level.
Rules
Each level gives you 60 seconds and a target score. The target counts your total score, so points you bank above one target carry over into the next level. If a pull is still on its way up when the clock hits zero, it still counts. Meet the target and you move on to a fresh, random underground with a higher target. If you miss it, the game is over and your total score is final. A level also ends early if you clear out everything worth grabbing.
Scoring
Your score is the total value of everything you have hauled up, across all levels. The bar under the target fills up as you get closer and turns green once you reach it. The ring on the right shows the time left and turns red for the last 10 seconds.
Tips
- Wait for the line. Watch the angle and fire just as the claw lines up with something good. There’s no penalty for waiting a moment.
- Mind what’s in front. The claw stops at the first thing it touches, so a rock sitting in front of a diamond will get grabbed first.
- Big gold is slow gold. A large nugget is great value, but three small ones might take the same time.
- Use the barrels. A blast can clear away rocks that block the way to deeper treasure.
- Watch the clock. Late in a level, go for quick, light catches.
Every shot is a tiny gamble against the clock. Your best score is saved on your device.
